No arbitration for Rich Harden

Sometimes it's painful being a genius. Yes, I predicted this, but I will receive no joy from it. I really hate the Cubs. LINK.

At least we got rid of Kevin Gregg. Too bad we also got rid of Reed Johnson, who combined with Granderson, would form an amazing CF platoon. Of course, this is assuming that the Cubs would get Granderson.

  1. I agree with you that not offering it to Harden was stupid. I doubt he would have accepted, and if he had, there are worse gambles than him at $7 million to $10 million for a one-year contract.

    I'm surprised they didn't offer it to Gregg or Johnson, who are the sort of marginal players that the Cubs normally blow themselves over. Gotta have that money free to overpay Chone, I guess!
